Spatial UX Design

The newly released augmented reality headset from Apple is considered the future of computing. With it we will be able to experience digital space not in 2d but in 3d, not only on our screens but in the real world. Designing and prototyping in this dimension demands new techniques and tools. I really enjoy working on spatial interfaces because it connects my passions of industrial and interaction design in a new way. At Apple I contributed to 2 projects regarding VisionPro.

Wearable Input Device
How might we use our hands to interact with 3d space? Together with a small group of engineers I worked on a tangible input device that was not released but widely used as prototyping platform within the company. I was responsible for developing the story and scenarios of our internal demos as well as designing the haptic feedback of the device. Patent here.

Applications around Creativity
How might a spatial computing environment inspire us to be more creative? Privacy, unlimited space and resources are some of the benefits for people to express themselves with an augmented reality headset. I prototyped several applications around drawing and 3d modeling and contributed to Freeform, an app that allows people to brainstorm and collaborate in augmented reality. More info here.
